Take a moment and read what Garrett 45 70 page has to say.
I shoota 45 70 - 405 loaded for 1850 fps out of a 32" bbl HR Buffalo Classis and it is dead on at 100 yards. Every thing shoot so far stops in thire tracks as soon as the bullett hits them.
Latest shot was 300 lb wild hog at 100 yrds - bullett went completely through crushing the right front sholder and totally blowing out the left hip = Dead.
Deer - neck shot at 135 yrds = dead
Angus Bull a friend ask that I shoot. Bullett went completely through both front sholders = dead. Made good stakes and roast alng with some good hamburgers. We will finish it off this summer.
