The Arizona Arms Association, Inc. has a proud 48+ year history as the oldest and largest Gun Collector's Organization in the State of Arizona.

In 1958, a group of individuals met to form the Arizona Gun Collectors Association. The Amateur Trapshooting Association serves as the faithful protector of the sport of trapshooting. As the largest clay target shooting organization in the world, the ATA governs the sport's rules and regulations and seeks ways to further enhance the sport and increase participation.

The ATA was founded in 1900 as the American Trapshooting Association and later changed to the Amateur Trapshooting Association in 1923. A Board of Directors, composed of state and provincial delegates govern all ATA policy matters. The Executive Committee, which is comprised of one representative from each of the five Zones, provides stewardship for the association throughout the year. The organization's day-to-day business is guided by an Executive Director and a team of professionals at the national headquarters in Vandalia, Ohio.
Last year, 54,208 members participated in some 6,275 registered tournaments throughout the North America. In total over 1,300 ATA affiliated gun clubs threw 82,480,480 clay targets in 1998.

The ATA Homegrounds is also home to the Grand American World Trapshooting Championships each August. This annual event draws nearly 6,000 competitors and showcases some of the best shooting talent in the world

The Arizona Cactus Cappers is a muzzle loading gun club, one of the many user groups that sponsor matches at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility.

We are a charter club of the National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association (NMLRA). We use their range rule book for our shooting matches.

We hold scheduled matches every third Sunday of the month on the small-bore range at Ben Avery Shooting Facility located at I-17 just west on the Carefree Highway.

We normally shoot paper target matches at 25, 50, and 100 yards and alternate with silhouette matches every other month. We shoot patched round balls and allow shooters to use any metallic sights on their rifles. All shooters are welcome to participate. Juniors ( under 18 yrs ) shoot for free but must be supervised by an adult.

The range opens at 7 am. We normally set up by 8 am and start shooting shortly after. Our schedule varies with the season. We start earlier in the summer and later in the winter.

We shoot bench, off-hand, and cross-stick targets. Our match fee is $10 for members and $ 12 for non-members. If you just want to sight in or plink it's $5. You do not have to be a member of our club to shoot with us.

Our members are from all backgrounds and walks of life. The main thing we have in common is an enjoyment of muzzle loading. We have members who shoot, repair, build, and hunt with muzzleloaders.

AzCDL was founded by a group of local activists who recognized that a sustained, coordinated, statewide effort was critical to protecting and expanding the rights of law-abiding gun owners. As a like-minded coalition of activists, the AzCDL founders were instrumental in the successful passage of the first major improvement to Arizona’s CCW (concealed carry) laws since they were instituted in 1994.

AzCDL’s current corporate officers are listed below, and they can be reached at the included Email addresses:

This is a local organization that is a direct offshoot of CMSA (Cowboy Mounted Shooters Association), which is a national organization. Cowboy mounted shooting is one of the nation’s fastest growing equestrian sports. Mounted contestants compete in this fast action timed event using two .45 caliber single action revolvers each loaded with five rounds of specially prepared blank ammunition. Courses of fire are set in a variety of patterns. The first half (5 targets) of a course of fire will vary with each go and requires the horse and rider to stop, turn, change leads and accelerate rapidly. The second half (5 targets), called the

Many in our ranks deny that a threat to our firearms even exists. We want AFA to be the voice of those who have no voice, or choose not to use it. It is the obligation of every American, and especially firearm owners, to educate other citizens who do not perceive the anti-gun agenda to be a threat to them. All firearm owners are targets! Not just the handgun owner, collectors, .50BMG shooter or semi-auto shooters. The muzzleloaders; reenacters; airguns and cowboy action shooters are also in the target zone of the anti-rights league.

In other words, stop being lazy about your liberties; stop allowing the anti’s the ability to make the law-abiding citizen pay the price with their unconstitutional legislation and become pro-active! Take action and speak up for your (our) rights! Call your senator, write letters to your legislators and tell your friends!! As the only nation in the world with a Constitution that guarantees the private ownership of firearms, we can never be accepted into the new world community without a change in our laws, or a civil war! There are people in this country that will fight to their death before they give up their right to self defense!
